As far as I've heard if you go to the CID they will just put you in Jail no questions asked. Later you can talk about whatever deals you want to make..but be prepared to spend a night in jail...or many nights in jail depending on how slow the procedures is.

Happened to someone i know, and while this someone I know was in jail heard it from others in there as well.
