Im not generalising but my husband and I have mey quite a few extremely rude and obnoxious people here.
On the contrary, the highly placed officials in the Ministry of Interior, the Police Dept and in the Municipality are such a pleasure to deal with.
I was particularly impressed by this gentleman who will remain unnamed on this public forum but who stunned us with his courtesy and his efficiancy in sorting out what we thought was a huge issue.
He just solved it in a jiffy.
Thats what I like about Qatar.
Having said this, we were gobsmacked by the way the police constable was berating an elderly gentleman for having parked in car in way which offended his sensibilities.
this is at the E ring road traffic police dept where you go to change your number plates. for some reasons the elderly man had parked his car diagnoally and the way the police ripped in off in full view of other customers was downright churlish.
Its not whether he was right or wrong, I find one should respect the age of customers... you cant publically bark at an old man, whatever be his parking offence...too many frustrated garbage trucks around and the best way to deal with them is smile at them and utter a silent prayer hoping God would help them and prevent more happless victims from their rage and at the same time thank God you are never as rude as they are.
