Flor, you are right, they do but the CAA in the UK would never let BA for instance impose unfair restrictions on other carriers in order to further their business interests, in fact it is illegal to do so and that is why we have a monopolies commission to stop such unfair practises.

And in terms of flying other airlines - yes, i love to fly other airlines and my journey takes a lot longer because i have to go through a 3rd country, or in terms of BA - sit on the tarmac in the middle of summer in Bahrain with a toddler and a baby in 50+c heat. QA and the authorities know that most people will not do this and so they have a stranglehold over us.
