I have said many times, I used the three carriers whichever suits my schedule and budget. But I really prefer QA because it's a direct flight home. I travel on lean season so I get the ticket less or book it 6 month ahead.
You just don't have the connection to Emirates to get the discount. Even with no sale, I could get a discounted fare. But I don't like waiting 3 hours on an airport doing nothing or waiting for the rip back home.
But objectively, I find nothing wrong about the move of QCAA. It's their authority and their aviation right. Now if Emirates find something fishy, then they should file formal complaints with the authority, NOT ranting as you people do.
