I think it was very admirable and brave of the Emir to chose such a name. It shows that yet again he is not a man who is afraid to show openly what he is upon. Bravo!
Imam M. Abdul Wahhab maybe what he is to some people but the truth is it was he, a great reformer, who actually did what the Prophet and His companions did. Didn't know the brotherhood opposed his ideologies though..this is news to me. And Qatar has long been referred to as a "Wahabi" state anyways. And if you dig deeper you may find that politically, the "Salafists" are now quite taking the "moderate" Islamic methods as compared to in the past.

*note I use the word "Wahabi" and "Salafi" only in regards to the situation and what the words have come to mean today. Islamic-ally whilst the word "Wahabi" has absolutely no religious significance( and it is very un Islamic to tag oneself only with the name of one Prophet, scholar, etc) the word Salafi actually refers to anyone upon the Path of the Prophet, His companions, and the pious predecessors,Hence its what Muslims are anyways supposed to be naturally.
