I read in the paper the other day that there are only 86 cameras installed in Qatar. Surprisingky, the death toll decrased during the period 2003 to 2007, still it is 4 times as high as the countries that score best (f.e. UK, Scandinavian countries, Finland, etc). So a long way to go.

I can only hope:

1) that all (new) major roads that are being build in Doha will be equipped with digital (remote controlled) speeding cameras. In addition, speeding cameras should take the picture from the front so they can monitor that (everybody) in the car puts on the seatbelt.

2) that we will have much more (anonymous) police cars on the roads.

3) why not link the fine to your basic salary ?
