I kind of can believe it. But even with all this, people weren’t happy. They wanted to be free.
Look at USSR. Medicine and education were free. Even after school developing centres for kids were free (piano, dancing, painting, sciences, any sport schools – ALL for free, chose whatever you want!). Homes (apartments) were given for free by the government. Electricity and water bills were peanuts, so was petrol. 25% of Russians have university degree. Access to the cultural facilities, such as theatre, art galleries, museums, etc., was either free or for very little charge. New mother got paid for each new born child, and got 4 months of maternity leave (2 months before delivery and 2 months after), then mother could stay home 1 year with the child and get 50% of her salary. Then mother could work shorter hours until her child is 7 y.o… and so on..
And guess what .. such “beautiful” system was overthrown with no regret.. why? there was NO freedom..
