First of all you need to understand that dyslexic children are normal children; their brain learns in a different way and they may struggle with reading/writing and even math but they are normal children. In fact, do some research in the internet and you will see that many brilliant and successfull people are dyslexic, including the billionaire founder/owner of Virgin, Tom Cruise and its is believed Einstein was dyslexic.

So to Elegance, who suggests dyslexics should do a living by manual crafts, don't talk if you don't know what you are talking about. The only reasonable thing you said is that the little girl needs to gain confidence in herself.

There are many different programs for dyslexic children; sadly, the Middle East is way behind on this (as everything else).

the first thing the little girl (and it seems you and the rest of your family) needs to understand is that it is not her fault being dyslexic and that there is nothing wrong with her: she only learns differently. You need to restore the little girl's self confidence and try to provide her adequate tools to learn in schools where there is no specific support/ understanding of what is dyslexia or any learning dissability for that matter. There is a reading program that is called Read Naturally that may be of help. Also a webpage called Lumosity.com (or something similar) and its brain trainer program could be of help. I recommend you read the book The Gift of Dyslexia also. The most important thing for ANY child (not only dyslexic) is a family environment where they feel loved and cared for. When you and your family understand more about dyslexia, you will start the path towards helping the child. And forget such small goal of finishing 12th grade: dyslexics go to college and can be very successful profesionals like any other non-dyslexic adult.

How do I know what I am talking about? I am the father of a brlliant 9 year old dyslexic child.
