)be brave, let the husband come here alone on a visit, test the waters and try to sort himself out first.
)once done, he can apply for a family visa, get you guys in and then you too can get work while being sponsored by your husband.
)it's best for him to come alone first since it's less hectic than looking for a job in 30 days (too short a period at the best of times) in a new country with a 2 year old tugging at your sleeves.
)i've been in the UK for my PG and grown up in Qatar and things work very differently in the two places. Doesn't mean either is bad. Just fyi. I would say being from the UK (not as bad a situation as some Brits think it is:-)) would work to your advantage here to some extent since the Gulf thinks you and the Americans know your stuff even if you don't haha.
5) so yeah think it over, send him out to check things out and god willing; it will work out for you guys. and once you're here, i think you'll love it here: all the sun you never had; all the tax you ever paid; it'll be a bad memory haha..not being patronizing here..just having a laugh with you having seen how much you hate the rain and snow which i love to bits because i've grown up in all the sunshine i never needed haha..best of luck:-)
