Dear readers,
Long ago I wrote this poem and was printed in gulf times, in reaction to discremination shown against Expts, and now same has been happened.
Oh Qatar! you are our home away from our home,
We love you, respect you and care,
We always pray for prosperity and glory,
Don"t forget please the moments we share.
Years ago we expats stepped on your soil,
Leaving behind our homeland and dears,
We devoted our youth and cream of our lives,
And worked here honestly for years.
We built the houses, the parks and the mosques,
We shaped your land with brawn and brain,
We turned the barren deserts into gardens and roads,
Working wholheartedly in heat, cold and rain.
We dare to say that you discreminate now,
You shattered our dreams, snatched our smiles,
Everything we sacrifice, every time we are victimised,
Can you imagine the picture of our worries?
We remember your generosity, your hospitality,
You know we are guests, and departed peoples,
We need justice, grace and peace,
we don"t ask for diamonds or pearls.
A cluster of bright prints leaving on your soil,
One day from you we all have to depart,
Will you give us some words of appreciation,
To write on our souls and broken hearts.
