I've long been of the opinion that many policies implemented here are with the intention of getting the low paid labor class to think twice before staying.

This latest move will certainly result in increased prices for food, produce, entertainment, probably even petrol etc.  

I know many Qataris who are keen to see some of the lower paid (or unemployed people here on visit visas) get out and go back to where they came from.

If paid parking at City Center was just the beginning, get ready for more mass inflation now.  Petrol at 1.2/litre even?
