TC, I strongly suggest your friend go to the authorities.  Whether they decide to pursue this or not, your friend or someone else may not be so lucky next time.  I was in a similar position last year but unforunately it resulted in an accident.

I have to agree about the lady drivers in Doha, I'm not sure they realise they have to actually stop at the roundabout.  To be fair to them, it must be difficult for them to see with their face pretty much fully covered and then huge sunglasses to ensure they can't see at all!
