The God Willing argument is old and tired. If you take your child for vaccinations or to the doctor when he has an ear ache - a car seat is a small investment. If he yells/screams/cries at least he is alive.
ETA it's not just Arab or Asian parents who are irresponsible, I've seen European/Western looking parents who are just as irresponsible with their most precious "possessions" children.
