In India many people have this infatuation with so called "education" -- which for them is nothing but bookish knowledge and passing Exams with high percentage. These people when they come out getting their degrees, are good only for Clerical jobs or become IT Coolies in US/Europe or even worse end up in "Gelf".
I think persona of Sachin will break many of those traditions as more and more Indians look to him as their role model.
