The OP is about opportunism - specifically the US going around the world and looking after its own interest in particular financial rather then the long term good of the universe.

Claudia went to US to have her good job even though she doesn't agree with the situation there.

Many QLs critique the situation in Qatar unfavorably, but still remain to forward their financial interests.
