Whether or not some people or as you say many people do not follow Islam as it should be followed it still doesn't make impermissible or disgusting the mentioned practice of older men and women marrying younger spouses, specially since as bro UK pointed out it was the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him)and we know the Prophet always acted on the will of Allah.
As for my parents then I still stand by what I stated even if they are still married to each other.Cos I always always want to see them both happy!
As for my hubby marrying a woman my daughter's age then its illegal for now..lol. My girl is just 5 years old. But yes twenty years from now if my hubby,and may Allah grant him a long life, wished to marry a woman of twenty or so, in the proper Islamic manner, then Inshallah, I still stand by my opinion.I'm not against polygyny and I'm not against men marrying younger women.I guess mainly because my views are based on my deen. And I don't see myself changing anytime too soon, and may Allah make me steadfast and better and never lay a burden on me more than I can bare..Aameen Ya Rabb!
