I understand your point that this is a Social Network site. However, i'm hoping that Qatarliving's goal is to appeal to the masses and to grow its user-base while coming across as a legitimate informational resource.
The moderators allow the new users to become alienated by allowing other members to talk to them in a condescending way. In other words, NOT moderating. As a result, potential members and new members alike will think twice about joining the QL community.
Even if a question sounds "dumb", it does not deserve a condescending answer. The funny thing is that some of the people being rude, lack a good command of the english language, so their feeble attempts at being witty or funny makes them come across as plain dumb.
