I don't understand one thing, It is possible that earthquake can cause lines to bend but what seems strange is that the joints with which lines are held to earth / surface plates are also in the same curve along with lines and no surface plate is out of order? i wonder if earthquake caused the surface plate(usually of wood) Joining bolts and lines bent in a simitarical position and then the pole on the side is not affected, not even bent.
Hope engineers can explain with some logic.
