Both Thursday and Friday night, without intending to, I got stuck in the middle of the Corniche celebrations. Unlike most, I was actually trying to go somewhere.
Pure volume of traffic, people dancing in the roads and random police roadblocks turned a 10 minuet journey into 2 hours for me last night.
At first I was annoyed and growling to myself. Then once I began to realise I was going nowhere in a hurry, and I may as well just chill and try and relax, I started to get in the swing of things.
The only danger I experienced was random lane changers who nearly caught me on a couple of occasions. But that aside, once I resigned myself to my predicament, I actually began to enjoy it. There were some really funny and entertaining things to witness. I didn't want to be there, but you know what, I am glad I was.
But I will finish by posing the question; How full are the hospitals today ;) ?
