QLFan, as you are Qatari, perhaps you could help improve the situation by assisting in finding someone who would be willing to provide land in a suitable location with perhaps a 99 year lease (as is often seen in the UK) at a nominal amount so that an optimal facility could be built? Maybe too, you have some influence to help establish a Qatari Animal Welfare Association similar to the RSPCA or ASPCA?
Don't want to criticize - you were generous to come and visit (many don't)and I have no idea what you do to support animal welfare in Qatar - but it is also important to understand that there are obstacles to being able to provide state of the art animal rescue care facilities here in Qatar. People are doing the best they can with the resources that are available.
Is there any way you or someone you know might be able to help - for example getting charity status would help the people at QAWS immensely. I know it would be appreciated whole heartedly by both the animal and the rescue community.
