The fact that these issues get highlighted is because in India the press has the freedom to report whatever and whenever they deem "newsworthy". Unlike some other countries where everything gets brushed under the carpet.
Granted the Indian media does go a bit overboard at time, but that's because Indians generally wear their emotions on their sleeve. Unfortunately they haven't learnt the art of "diplomatic spin",smiling and saying Trust us, everything gonna be OK. Should get Tony blair to conduct some training courses in India :)
