You would want a Polyurethane for your standard finish. If you're looking for something really thick (equiv. to 20+ coats of varnish) then you would want an acrylic epoxy resin (something like Glass Coat).

Unfortunately I have no idea where to buy any of these items in Doha...I've used them before in Canada.
