I have no doubt that you may know your job than some ppl from west, but when it comes to the interview and the job, you just can't compete!!....

You know here, anyone with the blue eyes and fair hair automatically knows more!.....Your canadian passport is good in Canada and perhaps to some degree makes life easier for you in Qatar.
