"Is the move to Qatar worth it?" - That is purely relative. If you can wrap your head around or away from some eccentricities, you will find Q to be quite an interesting place. If you love nature, flora is severely limited and most of the fauna is marine. You can forget about the long drives so common in the US & Canada, unless you intend to drive down to KSA, Bahrain & the UAE (which I am sure could be fun). It is a very safe place. It is very well connected globally by air, etc. etc. Respect the culture and take the best from it.
