Only in cases of murder?This man was injured bad and the accused should definitely be punished for his crime but is this sentence Islamic considering the fact that the victim is still alive? I'm open to correction here but please state the proof from the Quran and sunnah that Islam permits eye for an eye in situations like this where the victim is badly injured but still alive with a chance of recovery and survival yet as after all as long as he lives Allah can cure him just as he brings life to the dead.
