Just came across this thread - if you are still reading this my friend, my advice as a expat from the Uk is give the UK a wide berth in all respects!! In employment terms the jobless figures will go beyond 3 million this year and new jobs despite the rhotoric coming out of the coalition government are NOT going to be generated - throw this into the mix with the social unrest and the UK is not going to be a good place to be for some years/ever. You may think its not great in Qatar but I know where I would rather be right now and for the forseeable future - just my opinion.
