The place is better than most of the other countries to begin with. So no worries about it. I have been in Qatar for over an year and have made a lot of friends, and have something or the other to do over a weekend. Yes, there aint too many places where you could spend your weekends, but your friends fill up that vacuum. Every place has it's own advantages and disadvantages. I have worked in 4 GCC countries and so far i can say that Qatari's are better than their counterparts..If you need any more information, feel free to search on the forum or post a message for threads which are non-existing.
