most english medicines do contain alcohol. Islam does not stop one from using english medicine. thus muslims are permitted to consume alcohol in the form of medicine.

You must understand that alcohol consumption to the extent that it helps you is permitted. In other words alcohol abuse is not permitted. use it only as a medicine. not as a khamr.
