You are right, but i dont have a problem with the wearing of the gown during the convocation ceremony now do I?
If you read up on the history of this practice its got more to do with a color of the degree that you graduate in. Being that it was first started in Universities like Oxford and Cambridge and then continued there on since. all i'm saying is just coz ONE moron think its useless to wear the gown doesn't make it wrong.
