we are one country that never stop sending our candidates to any pageant competition. We have no inhibitions to any pre-qualifications of any pageant, so to speak. Most Filipina candidates are bachelor's degree, professionals, smart and I would say, beautiful.
The case of Ms. Venus Raj, is not an isolated case, and while being stripped with a crown,I'd say her case is not that embarrassing compared to the other pageant winner who was involved in drugs case. The decission of the organizers to disqualify her maybe justifiable if she provided false info of her birth certificate but nevertheless, the question of whether she was born Filipina is out of the question.
Most Filipinas who were married or had child with other nationalities produced kids that resemble almost to the father. We Filipinos understand it.
For being not looking beautiful, Qataribull, the pageant doesn't give big deal to it. Although having a pretty face is one of the criteria, being beautiful is different.
I say, only the organizers knew what Ms. Venus Raj declared in her document why she was eventually disqualified.
But, question is, why it took them long to know what was wrong? It could have been detected on the first preliminary rounds of the pageant?
