IMHO Niko is right actually - the micro management - in this case the the ability of the locals masquerading as "security/guides" is at best laughable and at worse down right dangerous - I seriously question their abiliity to deal with anything approaching a relatively minor public order issue - locals are best left to ordering coffees at Starbucks/Costa and insulting staff - putting them in positions of responsibility where they have a level of obligation for the safety and organisation of the general public isnt something that I support - they are simply not equipped to cope. The macro picture (see front page of yestedays Gulf Times) is as always "rosy".
Bottom line. the athletics was first class, the organisation was as usual unacceptable..... 2022 is a ludicrous pipe dream simply because the Qatari's do not get the micro correct and when it comes to staging major global events, the devil is in the detail.
