Didnt happen to me but I attended on Saturday afternoon and I understand how it happened. When we arrived on Sat afternoon early, the stadium was empty but the events were starting and the eyes of the world were on Doha - they were looking at an empty auditorium - outside the event were a crowd of about 50 people without tickets just queuing - they were let in en masse just to put bums on seats and give the impresion of a "fuller" stadium - I can understand the strategy from an organisers perspective. UNFORTUNATELY, the planning falls apart later on when those WITH tickets turn up only to find that there is no room at the inn!! Lesson learnt I think.
