We paid originally for our live in maid with one day off per week 1,300 and we then increased it in year 2 to 1,500 and now in year 3 it is 1,800.
I think to work all week and get paid 700 is wrong (even with food, accomo, etc). If they do a good job and are honest and hard working why not pay more (if you can afford it). After all, they look after your children do you really want them to be unhappy?
We did not go through an agency and each time (we've had 2 maids) transfered the visa. It was quick and this way we could see who we were hiring rather than pick from a book.
