I would think that a father with his wife and kids in tow will be less likely to stare than a 'bachelor'.

Bear in mind that I applied the term 'bachelor' here somewhat loosely. It apply to single men (esp Asian as they seem to be on the pointed end of this situation) coming to the mall regardless of whether they have families in Doha or home countries.
