The local perception of the whites is GENERALLY lack of a value system that is in line with Islamic principles. NB: I said "generally". The Western concept of fundamental liberties and freedoms are a little over the top for the locals. They won't tell it to your face as it's not the custom to.
But I only hear this problem about the singles - male or female (more difficult). Those with families are generally fine with accommodation - but they have other issues eg. expensive schooling etc.
