i have been reading through all these threads and alot lo them are very insensitive to what has happened michael was my husband who was out on the dunes with two work friends and a cousin...the boys went out on which was there day off from work and like most of you are going on about helmets, speed and safety this is not the point in this case for 1 a helmet would not have saved his life 2 there was no other vehicle involved and 3 no ambulance would get to my husband as the boys tried and got refused..even by the company that hired the bikes there where more interested in getting three bikes back than four??? what alot of people dont relise is that a sand dune isnt always what it looks like in this case it looked like a dune but had nothing on the other side apart from a 22ft steep drop so please keep your insensitive opinions to yourself until it happens to you then you wont know the pain and fear these four boys went through having to get michael from the dessert to seeing him fight then lose his life in a medical center ..i agree there should be a certain track for anyone to stay on and also an instructor at all times as the danger of these things you will never know or even putting flags into boundaries to where you can and cant go...at the end of all this he has left a broken hearted wife and three chidren who now are left without a husband and a dad
