The only possible upside is that they would not have to bring you from the UK for a face-to-face, but that is not necessarily a good thing. Many employers here view "local hires" as cheap labor - a captive audience, as it were. I would counsel patience for you and suggest that you cultivate the QL folks for possible leads in your area of expertise.
