Not to be disagreeable, but if someone lied to my secretary about having an appointment and then barged in to my office on false pretenses, I would definitely show him/her the door in short order. The best thing to do is your homework - find out who is the person in charge is and then write directly to them and ask politely for an appointment. May I also suggest that you do go on-line to the six American universities in Education City and look at all their job offerings and descriptions. You may find one that suits your skills and you can apply directly through that site.
