You really need to visit Doha and look around the schools. I am moving in 2010 and have two children 4 and 11 - the upside to Dohas schools is that they goin all the way through from nursery to 6th form. some schools started as primaries and grew into secondaries and some did it the other way around.
Having seen three schools we have selected Park House - mainly because it was the most British and the teacher actually greeted us and talked to us. We felt they all cover the basics but it is the extras or lack of extras that you will find helps you make the decision.
We feel that there will be so much for the kids to do outside school so sports and activities seem to be fully available and top class.
