well, SOME of them do behave arrogantly (in certain shops, at least) when they think you're a kabayan who can't afford what they sell. but they're always on their best behavior when you're at the cash register. especially when you buy something that's worth more than their monthly salary. i get to have nice little chats with them from time to time.
