With your accommodation paid for, you should be a bit like me. I rent a car (Honda City) for QR 1,800 a month, fuel is ridiculously cheap, it costs me QR 26 to fill an empty tank. I eat out every day at a Sri Lankan restaurant in Abu Hamour for just QR 8 a meal, which always fills me up, and I am a big bloke. Burger King, Mc Donalds, KFC etc. are all about QR 20 for a meal including fries and a drink. Milk is about QR 3 for 500ml, cans of Coke, 7UP, Pepsi etc QR 1 for a can, chocolate is too cheap for my health, and if you smoke you are going to be landed because they are so cheap I don’t even pay attention to how much they cost. Clothes are about the same cost as back home in the UK.
Laundry costs me about QR 20 a week.
I use Skype to talk to home which works really well, but mobile phones are very well priced, with some great international promotions.
You should live to a very high standard, and be able to send loads back home.
