I've only seen the diet root beer once, at Qmart at "The Mall" but it shut down a few months ago.
Haven't noticed it anywhere else except Megamart and the last time I looked it cost QAR12 per can - (that's about 3 USD - highway robbery)

Australian Women's Weekly widely available in various stores here. I love them, there's a picture of everything and I've never made anything that didn't turn out well. They do use grams/kilograms for certain items = there are about 450 grams to 1 pound. Otherwise, they use cups, tablespoons etc. just like we do in North America.
