So there may have been considerable alterations from the original! That is how the errors crept in. But that is why Hindus do not follow blindly whatever is written in the holy scriptures. There is a lot of tailoring done and different sects choose their own guidelines. And for each of the sects the aim is to be a better human being and do our worldly duties.
