Wonder if shopping naked would be a good idea - perhaps public decency would not take kindly to such an act - also a bit cold in the frozen foods section.
The car static is normally from the car mats in the footwells - made of polyester for cleaning ease but the motion of your feet while driving builds up a charge - as it cannot go anywhere (the car sits on rubber wheels so cannot earth itself) it is released when you touch a condutor - like the car metal frame.
