I live in a house which used to have a lot of servants. The philipina made had an affair with the cook. When he found out that she was sleeping with all the other male servants, he stabbed her and committed suicide!

I know a lot about how people treat their maids and nannies, but that doesn't give anyone the right to object to my rules in my house. When you are a guest in my house and I object to smoking, you don't smoke. If you want to smoke, you leave the house and then come back or wait until they get back home.

This is a public forum and it disgusts me how people PRETEND to be what they are not.

and m in doha:

quoting you, "The reason why maids runaway or become unloyal is because of abusive employers, employers who don't respect the rights of their maids as a human, employers who thinks that maids should always be on call 24/7, employers who thinks they own their maids.
Maids need to rest at least 8 uninterrupted hours, they should have at least 1 day off a week and maids should be provided with her basic necessities also a cellphone if not an internet.
I know a lot of maids who have their own tv with a cable of her county's channel, an internet to chat with her family and a mobile to communicate to anyone she likes. Because of this she is happy to serve the family she is working for, she can not leave the family because of their kindness, she works so well in return to their generosity and kindness."

That isn't true, AT ALL. I have no idea what world you've been living in, but surely it hasn't been mine. Since we will be meeting up on Thursday night for the Iftar Drive, why don't you come down and meet us all? It will be a great way to get to know one another and stop these assumptions? If you want, I can even bring the 16 maids that work under my families wing for you to interview? Let me know.
