However, this has prompted a new offer by Qtel which includes a tariff of 29 dirham per minute for some
customers.
Reacting to this offer, Maher argued: “The offer that Qtel has launched is limited to a very small number of customers. It is only available to their Shary value bundle customers which is approximately 10% of their base.”
“Even worse, to pay 29 dirhams you need to be on the most expensive plan so well under 5% of Qtel customers are getting this rate,” he continued, “in fact as a normal Qtel customer you will still be paying up to QR3.19 for international calls to some destinations.”
“Our offer is available to all Vodafone customers and we advertise the most you will pay for an international call which is the same cost as a local call,” he said, adding “actually people on our best value bundle will only pay 17.5 dirhams per minute.”
