Don't worry if you're residency isn't processed - I was here on a visit visa when my son was born at Al Ahli hospital. My husband was still there at the birth and I had the same treatment as everyone else! The only difference was they wanted a credit card up front and there were a couple of metabolic tests that residents get done free that we had to pay for. All in all it was about QR11,000 which includes 2 hearing tests and a follow up visit.

I was worried about giving birth and not being resident but there were no problems at all. As long as you get a 3 month visit visa you should be fine.

Just be careful when flying so late - the airlines were really funny about me flyng so pregnant but then I was doing a long-haul from the UK whereas you're just popping over from UAE. Make sure you have all your paperwork with you and a letter stating you're fit to fly.

As soon as you get to Qatar, make an appointment to see a doctor here. I registered at 32 weeks and didn't have a problem with the change over - I just gave them all my notes from the UK. There were a couple of blood tests that they require here that they don't do in the UK and I had to have them done straight away but other then that it was easy.
