Beacuse,... we are not considered a real Muslim if we dont believe and respect Jesus Christ, but....as a prophet and NOT a god or son of God. And the mother of Jesus(Maryam/Virgin Mary) is one of our role model for woman in Islam for her purity and cleanliness.
