I applied voda on 7th july 2009 , the next day i got a mail saying :
"Greetings from Vodafone.
This email confirms that your recent order has been processed and is now ready for delivery, either to your home or to one of our pick-up locations, whichever option you selected when you made your purchase.
Please remember that you must show your ID to receive your order, whether you’re picking up at one of locations or we’re delivering to you. Also, if you purchased a Star Number and owe a remaining balance, this amount will be due at time of delivery. You may pay this amount with a check made out to Vodafone Qatar or in cash.
If you cannot be present to receive your order or would like to have someone pick up your order from the location you chose, then you can have a representative do so in your place. You will need to complete the Letter of Authorisation found here and follow the directions for its use."
i opted for pick-up, i went there on 9th july and i got the sim. I got a 110 flexi, i called to customer care and changed that to flexi 35 - Customer care was not bad !

There is good Network coverage as well.
