Struggling through Mariah butchering her song, I was a little troubled by the idea of singing 'I'll be there' at a funeral. Somehow I don't I can 'just say his name' for him to be there.
And why do Americans applaud at a memorial service? Did they think they were at a concert??
My pet hate of American culture - the constant need to applaud everything, including the pallbearers carrying a coffin. Show a little grace.
